A Bond Once Strong

A bond once strong, now frayed and thin,

A mother and daughter, torn within.

Words that cut, wounds that don't heal,

A love that's lost, a pain they both feel.

Once they laughed and shared their dreams,

But now their closeness, it seems, it beams.

The weight of anger, the burden of pride,

Their love once alive, now withered and died.

The mother's love, once warm and kind,

Is now replaced by bitterness, and blind.

The daughter's heart, once open wide,

Is now closed tight, with pain inside.

The memories they shared, now like a dream,

A broken bond, an unraveling seam.

The silence between them, deafening and cold,

Their hearts so distant, so young and so old.

Oh, how they long to heal the divide,

To rebuild their bond, and bury their pride.

But the hurt is too great, and the pain too deep,

A bond once strong, now shattered, and asleep.

So they go their separate ways,

With hearts that ache and souls that blaze.

Hoping someday, they'll find a way,

To mend the bond they let slip away.
