An Honest Love

Updated: Feb 11, 2021

She didn’t want to say “I love you” for fear of rejection. She didn’t want to say “I love you” for fear that things will change. She didn't want to say “I love you” for she fears it makes him uncomfortable. But, she knows that in love, honesty matters. An honest love is the only love that matters. She’s learned to run towards that which scares her. She conquers her fears.

She tells him, know that he’s worthy of love. She tells him that loving her and being loved by her is easy. Her love is a love that transcends wounds of past hurts. Her love is worth every mountain he’ll climb to reach her peaks.

He should embrace it. He’s worthy of her love as she doesn’t give it haphazardly. Though… For him, her love isn’t enough to transcend an ocean. He wants to let her go. He wants to disconnect. At that moment, she thinks – “Did he say let me go? Did he say disconnect?” She thinks – “This is it. This is the moment that every fiber in her being told her was coming.” Her heart felt like it was being ripped from her soul. Such a brutal moment in time…an honest love moment.

Her heart breaks ever so slowly. Shattered. She accepts his truth but not without torment or grief. She knows that her love is worthy of a man who believes that crossing an ocean to love her and be loved by her is worth it. She knows that her love is worthy of a man who will fight to hold onto her.

Her kind of love deserves ignition! She doesn’t want to say “I love you”. Too late, can’t take it back now! Damn. Such an honest moment and honest love (dilemma). An unrequited shattered love.
