Dear Future Progeny,
You emerged from the darkness, into the light, where I provided a warm safe place for you to grow into what the world would be blessed to see, 42 weeks later - Love. From conception to your earthly debut, you were loved. You arrived in this world filled with potential for greatness, filled with the hopes and dreams of those who would give you your DNA.
From the moment my eyes captured a glimpse of your face, I was reminded that you were conceived with the passions that flowed through the deepest parts of your father and me. You were conceived with pure joy and love and took from me, my compassion, grace, inquisitiveness, and zest for life into your spirit. Yes, you were conceived with an abundance of joy and love and took your father's strength, humility, industrious nature, and honor into your veins. He gave you the very best of himself as well as I.
I saw your face and noticed that you were a pure reflection of the love that I took inside of me the night you were conceived. You came into this world and as I held you close to my heart, I remembered how your father holds me close to his heart. You were born and we saw the depth of both of your ancestral surnames in your eyes, heart, and soul.
On the day you were born, you were engulfed in the essence of your maternal heritage. But, you would let the world hear your lungs and you would exude many of the qualities of your paternal surname. You would be the epitome of, God showing favor as we were gifted a child "whose presence brings joy to others"
On the day you were born, once again, your father held me as I held you. We counted your gentle fingers and soft toes; we looked deep into your eyes - they were a replica of your father's eyes - and smiled. We decided to name you, "Love", because we saw, in your eyes, one of the most precious gifts that we would ever give each other - Unconditional Love!
Today I pray and speak into existence that we are, one day, worthy enough to become your parents.
With all my love, grace, gratitude, and humanity!
