The last couple of weeks, I've been feeling down, be it from grief, insecurity, sadness, anger, or solemnness. Sure, it hasn't been a perpetual state of heaviness but nonetheless, I've been in a state of bewilderment with my emotions. So, I've decided to challenge myself by doing a daily recall of why I'm grateful - 21 Day Gratitude Challenge.
Statistics show an attitude of gratitude can pave the way for better health, deeper relationships, and increased productivity. One study showed that a five-minute a day gratitude journal can increase your long-term well-being by more than 10 percent. Gratitude is our greatest weapon against entitlement and complacency. Gratitude redirects our attention from our lack to God's provision and blessings. For the next 21 days, I will venture to push my mind a little further each day.
For the next 21 days, I'll keep gratefulness in mind with the following goals:
Foster healing and usher in happiness even in the midst of obstacles
Acknowledge every emotion and honor its place in my life
Inspire others through my daily writings to heal and explore their own gratitude
Actively search for moments of gratitude in the midst of sacrifice or hurt
Avoid putting my feelings in the box of "positive" or "negative" and simply accept them for what they are in the moment
Join me on my gratitude journey through the exploration of heart, mind, and soul.
