About Our Future

Habibi,

I was optimistic about spending extended time with you. It’s important to see if it makes sense to plan a future together. Then, I was disappointed to learn that I can’t come right now. But this morning, I woke early and I remembered that everything happens according to God’s timing.

I don’t know what the future holds for us in terms of how a relationship will unfold, if at all. What I do know is that there are no coincidences in life only destiny and the series of choices that we make which lead us to what’s already meant for us. I know that the timing of you entering my life was perfect. And, I know that the timing of our reunion will be perfect.

I’ve seen a future for us filled with love, laughter, joy, passion, few disagreements, and mutual respect. Whether that’s meant to happen for a lifetime or just for a short season that we both need, I believe it’ll happen at the perfect time. I believe that vision always precedes preparation.

So, until such time, I’ll do my best to not be discouraged or disappointed. Until such time, I’ll keep using our time apart to prepare my mind and heart to receive you, all of you – the good and the bad. Until such time, I’ll trust that you’re doing your part to prepare for us. Until our reunion, I’d like for us to keep learning new things about each other and understanding each other’s understanding of relationships.

You know how I feel about you because I haven’t been afraid to tell you. While you haven’t said anything, in favor of or against loving me, I hope that if you don’t feel the same way, that you respect me enough to share that. But, I do hope that you feel the same way about me. Don’t lose someone amazing because you’re afraid to love openly. I can’t promise you a perfect life but, I can promise you that loving me is worth it!
